UNIT OBJECTIVES Students will learn the skill cues associated with proper High Jump technique. Students will learn the skill cues to properly “put” a shot. Students will learn the skill cues to properly throw a discus. Students will learn the skill cues associated with proper Triple Jump technique. Students will learn the skill cues associated with proper Long Jump technique. Students will learn the skill cues to properly clear a hurdle. Students will learn the terminology as well as proper exchange technique during relay race. Students will learn how to adjust and push off of blocks during a 100 meter sprint. Students will compete in an 800m and 1600m competition to experience the event. PHYSICAL EDUCATION CONTENT STANDARDS 6th Grade 1.6, 1.9, 2.1, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 4.1, 5.1-5.5 8th Grade 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 4.6, 5.4, 5.5-5.7

WANNA DO TRACK & FIELD FOR CMS? Track and Field is the final after school sport of the year. It is fun and CMS has a rich T & F history. Over the last 6 year, no other school has dominated T & F like CMS has. We take it seriously, yet, it is super fun and social. Over 100 athletes join and participate in various events. Information about the upcoming season will be posted soon!!! Talk to any of your PE teachers before hand about it if you like.
